Albania

Albania is possibly the most stable country in the Balkans, but that's because its entirely controlled by the Fares (the Albanian Mafia) and it is in their best interest to keep the Balkans as chaotic as possible. They organized quickly after the wake of the second Eurowar in the late 2030s under the unique Albanian identity and has pushed their first move advantage in the region in the last forty years by supplying both sides and playing local warlords against each other.

The country itself is bordered by the Federal Republic of Hellas to the south, Montenegro and the Novi Pazar Enclave to the north, and shares a de jure border with Kosovo to the east. Unlike many other countries in the region, there is a Muslim stronghold in the country, but the ethnic ties are stronger so this does not cause the sort of friction it would in another state in the region. No megacorp has any official presence in the country but many Ares, Aztecnology, Sader-Krupp, and lately Spinrad goods can be found if you know where to look.
