The team was hired by Blackstar to look into the site from Renewal Report. They seemed to be actively looking around a blacksite. The group followed a team entering into the Ares blacksite, after getting support for the Santucci Crime family. Malta believed that the gang activity decreasing in St Louis was caused by Horizon meddling. This was never proven.
The team entered the blacksite, finding it was a study for the study of an Insect Queen. They were also using the site to synthesize FABIII. Malta and Eclipse killed two of them, and captured the other two. It turns out an Ares team killed the Horizon team and attempted to steal FABIII in order to kill a bug queen. Malta promised the surviving Ares scientists he would kill the bug queen in Detroit.
