Detroit Flyby Information
This is a summary of the places where you think are most likely to contain an insect queen given what you saw from the flyby, and the situations thereof.
Zone 2
A several block pile of smoldering former building rubble partially sunk into the ground marks this area, which seem to have been bombed by Ares forces in the recent past. The area is still swarming with wasp insect spirits, probably by your count 30 aboveground you can see across the square mile pile. The very Ares forces which put on the assault seem to have been pushed back to about a kilometer away, and there are active firefights between Ares teams and presumably solider insect spirits as they try and make ground. You figure you can avoid the Ares people by coming in from the opposite direction, but this is probably a large hive with an extensive underground network so you would probably still be met by scouts and soldiers. The debris from the destroyed buildings also make it easier to collapse the tunnels but access aboveground would be difficult for the same reason.
Palmer Park Water Plant
Palmer Park Water Plant had been decommissioned for a decade at this point so nobody was really keeping an eye on it. You probably would have missed it being an insect stronghold if it wasn't for the fact that at the time the satellite was flying by, the hive was engaged in an intense fight with Ares' `secret weapon' special forces, what seems to be insect headed musclebound brutes wearing body armor. By your count there is about a dozen wasp spirits engaging with the squad of four and the wasps might be losing?
Scaefer 7/8
Many large sinkholes in this neighbourhood reveal large recently dug tunnels underground which can only be a hallmark sign of an insect hive in the area. You don't see any surface sign of insect activity here but the area is heavily damaged and also there is no sign of the living either; it's quite eerily deserted for a neighbourhood so close to downtown between the nearby Zone 1 and Zone 2.
