Sarge used to be a decker in the UCAS military. During one skirmish, a dissonant technomancer ambushed them, bricked their deck and started dropping their squadmates left and right. They Emerged during the ensuing carnage and managed to fight off the enemy hacker and saved the squad. But upon noticing that Sarge was hacking without a deck, the squad tried to kill them, so they escaped and deserted. They're now a mercenary providing hacking services no questions asked.
After experiencing betrayal just for being a technomancer, they want to free technomancers from their shackles and see following the Will of the Resonance as the way to do that and the Dissonance as their ultimate enemy.
